Sheila Ward Sheila Ward (born c.1936) is a retired British police officer. She was the first female police officer in the Metropolitan Police in London to hold the post of Station Inspector, commanding a police station in Kings Cross.〔("Lib Triumphs at Scotland Yard", ''The Milwaukee Sentinel'', 14 February 1973 )〕 She was appointed following the disbandment of the separate Women's Branch and the integration of women into the general force in 1973.
